Demystifying Private Equity

Designed for business leaders this seminar will discuss the current deal environment and the exit or investment options available to business owners, with a particular focus on Private Equity. With the help of our guest speakers we will have an engaging panel discussion to share views from the perspectives of CEO, PE investor and M&A Advisor.

Why PE is an attractive route today

Multiples on transactions have been on the rise in part due to demand for quality assets outstripping supply. Private Equity has been fundamental to this owing to the level of finance which they have raised but have not yet deployed. This makes Private Equity an exit or funding option particularly relevant in today’s M&A market.

Investment from a PE house provides the opportunity for shareholders to de-risk their position by taking cash off the table now, whilst also sharing in the continued growth of the business, which the Private Equity firm will support the management team in achieving.

In this seminar we aim to demystify the below questions surrounding Private Equity:

  • What general characteristics of businesses are PE looking to invest in?
  • Will respective shareholders be able to exit in full? If not, how much can they cash out?
  • How does PE incentivise management teams?
  • How do PE houses differ?
  • What level of involvement will they have? Who is in control?
  • How long do they invest for and how do they exit?
