Responding to industry changes shouldn’t detract from what you do

On 12 December in Leeds, we’ll be hosting our next Corporate Update event, designed to help you untangle ever-changing regulation and legislation. These interactive sessions signpost new opportunities and pre-empt challenges, so that your technical knowledge is as sharp as the rest of your business.

During this series, experts will cover accounting complexities in the current economic environment, how finance functions can find new and modern digital approaches to tax compliance and reporting processes, and finally the business implications of the potential Brexit deal that is emerging.

Agenda

The session starts at 8:00am and finishes at 10:00am. Here’s a quick overview of what you can expect:

Accounting complexities in the current economic environment
We explore how businesses are addressing today’s accounting challenges - from regulatory changes to IFRS 15, 9 & 16, to accounting implications as a result of the current economic climate such as onerous contracts, impairments and foreign currency movements. We’ll explore the key accounting changes, impacts on financial statements and how companies are looking to deal with this period of change.
Is your tax digital?
Making “Tax Digital” is helping to transform tax payers’ relationship with HMRC and driving a new focus on the data used for tax compliance. With digital reporting in place for VAT, and Corporation Tax under consultation, the integrity and effectiveness of your tax compliance process is critical. During this session, we will explore how finance functions can find new and modern approaches to tax compliance that are ready for this modern reporting world, by providing greater confidence in the integrity of data at the same time as streamlining tax reporting processes and creating cost efficiencies.
“Last calls” for Brexit
Autumn should see the final contours of the UK’s post Brexit trading relationship with the EU become clearer. This element of the briefing will examine the business implications of the potential deal that is emerging, and how businesses still have time to plan ahead of upcoming risks and challenges, as well as driving growth agendas.
